Joey "The Ace" Aguilar

I Started racing at the age 13 in go karts. I raced locally for a few years at several different tracks, winning many races & point championships.

At Dade City Raceway I won 80% of the races in one year earning the nickname "THE ACE". I was proud of that since there was such hard competition that year.

In 1992 I was approached by Faulkner Motorsports to run the WKA Florida State Series. That year we won 2 races and set fast times at 4 out of the 6 race series. We missed grabbing the State championship by one point that year ending the Series in 2nd place. We raced one WKA National event in Charlotte NC finishing 16th out of 58 karts.

The following year I meet Lenny with Classic Corvettes while running some money races at Dade City. Lenny approached me one night and offered me a chance to run his kart in some WKA State & National events. Over the next year and a half we had 3 WKA Florida State fast times and won 3 State race events, and 2 National Events & set fast times at both the events. We also won the World 100 race in Jasper, FL leading all 100 laps.

In 1996 I was approached by Allen Whooten to drive a pavement Sprint car. It was a big jump going straight from go-karts to Sprint cars with no experience in-between. The first night out we started 19th and finished 11th. I remember the old saying after the race that night by the late Dick Friedley, " If you can roll it on the trailer, it has been a good night."

I drove for a few good race teams through the years such as Pissott Motorsports and MCR Motorsports, where I won many heat races and came close to winning a few features. I will never forget my 1st feature win and Barfield sweep with the Caviler Motorsports team.

In 2003 I drove the #96 Schmidt Motorsports car and we won 6 races that season. We won 4 races in the TBARA which 3 out of the 4 wins were in a row. And the other 2 wins came in the non-wing club.

After some time off in 2004 and 2005 I was approached by Doro Racing to drive their #52 Sprintcar. In 2006 right out of the box Aguilar won the first 2 races entered by Doro Racing. In the third race Aguilar had a spectacular accident flipping out of the racetrack in Punta Gorda, Fl. The team was sidelined for 6 weeks while the car was rebuilt. Returning to competition in the highly competitive TBARA series Aguilar finished 2nd twice, a third, a sixth, a seventh, and 29th.

In 2007 We had a win in the TBARA Series at Citrus County Speedway and also a few top 5 finishes. We are now gearing up for the 2008 Season and looking forward to celebrating in Victory Circle.

In 2010 Doro Racing has closed the doors after 3 years of racing. In our 3 year run, we raced 30 times and won our first 2 races out of the box. We also won 2 more features in 2 different clubs (TBARA & CFWSC). Thats a win for every 8 times we ran, not bad.... I would like to thank Dorothy & Don Vinson for getting me back in racing and back into Victory Circle. Also for helping me climb the ladder to better my progress to the top of Sprintcar Racing. It takes a good group of people to make it happen and I'm thankful for my Owners, Crew and Sponsors for making it Happen. Thanks to Simpson, Premier Miller, In Pain call Shane, Gulf Coast Powder Coat, Kratos Productions. Its sad to see it come to an end, but I am moving on to drive for a new team.

In 2010 I will be driving for the Miller Motorsports #78 Sprint Car Team owned by Kim and Shane Miller. The phone call came during off season and I thought I was dreaming.... I made sure to not gop to sleep that night just incase. Coach runs a first class operation with equipment as good as any out there in the country.I am very thankful for the opportunity to drive for Kim and Shane Miller, and I will not let them down on our goal for the 2010 season. This is the best equipment I have ever had in my racing career by far. I will have the same cast of characters in the Pits working on the #78 Miller Motorsports car as I have had in the past. Its hard to find a group like mine, they are so dedicated. A special thanks to my crew Tra, Billy, Luigi, Jimmy, My wife Tiffany and my son Lil-Ace. With a team like them and Coach's leadership, it will be a great year for everyone involved. Just incase you havent figured it out SHane Miller was given the nickname Coach because everyone knows I am" Kyle Bush style all the way ".....

See you at Speedweeks 2010
